Season 9 is the final season of the Flash and will have 13 episodes in total. The first episode of the final season aired on February 8, 2023, and the finale is expected to air on May 10, 2023. The following is the overview of the whole season and its expected air dates for each episode:

The Flash Season 9 Episode 1

You can watch The Flash Season 9 on the CW during the expected air time or later via the free CW app. It is not known currently when the show will arrive to the UK audiences on BBC One and iPlayer. The ninth season of the Flash will arrive on Netflix a week after the finale airs on CW.

The ninth and final season of The Flash premiered on The CW on February 8, 2023, and will conclude on May 24, 2023.[2] Production for a ninth season was confirmed on February 3, 2022, before it was officially announced on March 22, 2022.[3]

Viewers can watch The Flash live on The CW, or with an active subscription to Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, or DIRECTV STREAM, all of which include The CW in their TV channel bundles. New episodes will be available for free next-day streaming on The CW Website and The CW App the morning following their live release. Season 9, Episode 1 will debut on The CW Website/App Thursday, February 9.

One way of doing that is by inviting back Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, who is confirmed to be guest starring in the final season as his thought-dead vigilante, whose own solo show spawned this popular spin-off.

Stephen Amell said via Instagram: "I'm coming back for the ninth and final season of The Flash. Why? Doesn't matter. How? Doesn't matter. Greg Berlanti called me up, and he said, 'The Flash is ending. Would you like to...' and I said, 'Yes! You don't even have to finish your sentence.'"

The once-thriving Arrowverse is seemingly closing its doors for good after The Flash season 9, which is perhaps why showrunner Eric Wallace is bringing back some faces from across the franchise for one last goodbye.

Of course, fans can also expect plenty more from the main The Flash cast, led by Grant Gustin as the titular superhero and Candice Patton as ace journalist Iris West-Allen, with the two likely still adapting to married life in season 9.

Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti, and Geoff Johns are the developers of the long-running series. Fans of The CW series are eagerly awaiting the season premiere to find out what the upcoming latest and final season of the series will bring to the table, especially after The Flash season 8 ended on such an electrifying note.

To watch the upcoming episode of the popular series, viewers need to have a connection to The CW Network only. The audience can also stream all episodes from the series' previous eight seasons on the popular streaming platform Amazon Prime Video.

Season 9 of the series will have a total of 13 episodes, with the first episode titled Wednesday Ever After. Eric Wallace has served as the writer of the story, while Thomas Pound and Sarah Tarkoff have acted as writers for the teleplay of the episode. The episode has been directed by Vanessa Parise.

The official synopsis for episode 1 of season 9 provides the audience with clues regarding what is to come in the upcoming episode. By the looks of it, it seems that the episode will be full of emotionally driven and dramatic events as fans will witness Iris and Barry reliving a particular day many times.

The episode will also showcase Joe engaging in a meaningful conversation with Cecile. In the upcoming episode, the audience will get to see new and old friends as well as rivals coming down to Central City. Thus, the episode is bound to take viewers on a highly arresting rollercoaster ride.

The promising lead cast list for the series' ninth season entails Grant Gustin as Barry Allen / The Flash, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Candice Patton as Iris West-Allen, Danielle Nicolet as Cecile Horton, Brandon McKnight as Chester P. Runk, Kayla Compton as Allegra Garcia, and Jon Cor as Mark Blaine / Chillblaine.

The Flash Season 9 is ramping up to be an unforgettable final season for the Grant Gustin-led series as several Arrowverse veterans will help Barry Allen with his final mission to save the world.

Sendhil Ramamurthy's Bloodwork served as the main villain of The Flash Season 6, but his survival at the end of that season meant that there are bigger things to come for the character. The villain's comeback in Season 9 could spell bad news for Team Flash as he is definitely seeking revenge against them.

Andy Mientus' Harley Rathaway popped up several times throughout the past eight seasons either as a foe or an ally. The anti-hero's comeback in Season 9 appears to be on the good side as he teams up with the villains, Flash, and Batwoman against Red Death.

It is unknown if more guest stars will be announced for The Flash Season 9, but it won't be surprising if there are still some Arrowverse characters that will appear. Melissa Benoist's Supergirl could pop up for a special episode since her chemistry with Grant Gustin's Flash is unmatched while other candidates for a guest appearance are Tyler Hoechlin's Superman, Brandon Routh's Ray Palmer, and Caitlin Lotz's Sara Lance.

Grant Gustin leads the cast as Barry Allen/The Flash, Candice Patton plays Iris, Danielle Nicolet is Cecile, and Jesse L. Martin is Joe. The season nine cast also includes Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost, Kayla Compton as Allegra Garcia, Jon Cor as Mark Blaine, and Brandon McKnight as Chester P. Runk.

It's hard to believe, but we're only two weeks away from The CW's Grant Gustin (Barry Allen/The Flash), Candice Patton (Iris West-Allen) & Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow)-starring The Flash kicking off its final run with the first chapter of its 13-episode ninth season. As a follow-up to the release of the show's final season official trailer earlier today, we've got some preview images to pass along for S09E01 "Wednesday Ever After" to accompany the official overview- take a look:

The Flash, like many other shows on The CW, will be coming to an end over the next year. Having been on our screens since 2014, The Flash will conclude in 2023 with season 9 and come to Netflix in select regions.

This is also one of the last DC-licensed titles to likely ever hit Netflix, with Titans season 4 also hitting Netflix in select regions. However, Netflix still have The Sandman (yet to be renewed at the time of publishing) and Sweet Tooth exclusively.

Season 9 of The Flash kicked off in style on Wednesday night, taking the long-running The CW series through some interesting developments. This new batch of episodes, which will be the series' last, are expected to be chock-full of new and returning characters, both from the mythos of the show itself and from the larger Arrowverse franchise. The Season 9 premiere kicked that string of appearances off in a major way, with the arrival of Owen Mercer / Captain Boomerang, portrayed by The 100's Richard Harmon. If you're among the The Flash fans that are baffled over Owen's arrival, here's what you need to know. Spoilers for Season 9, Episode 1 of The Flash, "Wednesday Ever After", below! Only look if you want to know!

The episode saw Barry Allen / The Flash (Grant Gustin) and Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton) being stuck in a time loop, which causes them to repeat the same day over and over again. Part of that day includes a run-in with Captain Boomerang, who is trying to rob a piece of technology from Kord Industries.

"Nine seasons! Nine years of saving Central City while taking audiences on an emotional journey full of heart, humor, and spectacle," said The Flash showrunner Eric Wallace in a statement. "And now Barry Allen has reached the starting gate for his last race. So many amazing people have given their talents, time, and love to bring this wonderful show to life each week. So, as we get ready to honor the show's incredible legacy with our exciting final chapter, I want to say thank you to our phenomenal cast, writers, producers, and crew over the years who helped make The Flash such an unforgettable experience for audiences around the world."

Spoiler alert for anyone that hasn't seen episode three - But the Red Death has arrived and it looks like her master plan involves potentially destroying the space-time continuum, which, of course, is very bad news for Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and company.

Who is this mysterious new adversary? Well, as revealed in the episode's closing moments, she is indeed Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie), who Team Flash learned had suspiciously gone missing several weeks prior to the events of the episode...

LET THERE BE DARKNESS - The Flash (Grant Gustin) is forced to make an impossible choice. With the power out in the city, Team Flash calls upon the Rogue Squad to help as Iris (Candice Patton) is visited by an old friend. Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) work on finding a balance. Menhaj Huda directed the episode written by Joshua V. Gilbert & Emily Palizzi (#904). Original airdate 3/1/2023.

In season nine, episode two, Barry feels guilty for what happened to Caitlin and Mark comes up with a plan which makes everyone skeptical. Meanwhile, Red Death looms in Central City and commands that failure is not an option. Joe asks Cecile to make a choice which leads Cecile to think about the greater good. Allegra and Chester take a step in a new direction. Lastly, old friends pay an unexpected visit to S.T.A.R. Labs.

Caitlin Snow was killed as a result of trying to back Frost (also Danielle Panabaker). However, as seen in the first episode, Danielle is still around as a new character, who goes by Snow, has emerged. Snow is able to go back into the chamber to save either Frost or Caitlin, but decided to choose herself. 041b061a72
